Chopper 2000! American DJs Copter-Sphere Is Helicopter Of New MillenniumStrap on your seat belt . . .and take a helicopter ride into the 21st century. Youll travel faster than the speed of light with American DJ Supplys revolutionary Copter-Sphere, a helicopter-like effect designed for the next millennium. The Copter-Sphere looks like the helicopter effects used by DJs and clubs, it rotates 360 degrees like a helicopter, and it casts the familiar "whirlybird" of colorful light beams. But its all-new technology is light-years ahead of the helicopters of the last century. Sleeker and more compact, the Copter-Sphere actually produces more colors and beams, with fewer lamps (just one!) and fewer moving parts. This design not only makes the Copter-Sphere perform more reliably because theres less wear and tear on the motor, its also less expensive to manufacture . . which means a lower price tag! "The Copter-Sphere is truly a next-century version of the popular helicopter effect," said Scott Davies, General Manager of American DJ Supply. "It rotates like a helicopter, but offers even more visual excitement, greater value, and is more portable and durable. With all these advantages, we believe that users of helicopters will switch over to this advanced new design in the future." Unlike conventional helicopters, which typically cast 4-10 light beams and use a different lamp to produce each one, the Copter-Sphere can create 28 beams, all from a single lamp! The secret is in the fixtures innovative design -- a sphere with a saucer-shaped disk around the center, which resembles the planet Saturn. The sphere and disk contain 28 multi-color lenses. An internal lamp shines through the lenses, creating a separate beam of light at each lens opening. Not only does the Copter-Sphere serve up more beams than standard helicopters, it also provides greater visual variety, because it creates beams in two different shapes -- round and flat. This is because the lenses in the sphere are circular, while those in the disk are rectangular. Designed for a gentler, mellower millennium, the Copter-Sphere also "travels" at a slower pace than conventional helicopters. This gives it greater versatility, because it can be used both for livening up a dance floor and as a more laid-back mood effect. "Older-style helicopters moved faster with a more tumbling type motion, which made them great for dance clubs," said Davies. "The Copter-Sphere provides enough colors and movement to create excitement on the dance floor, but at the same time, its slower rotation also makes it an ideal backdrop for setting a mood at a lounge or party. Clubs and DJs will really appreciate this versatility, because it gives them more effect for their dollar." Lighting users will also appreciate the affordable price of the Copter-Sphere, just $119.95 suggested retail. "The price really reflects a tremendous value when you consider that the smallest helicopter, which produces just 4 beams, runs around $200, and they go up from there," Davies pointed out. Along with being lighter in the wallet, the Copter-Sphere also weighs less than conventional helicopters -- just 5 lbs. (compared to 15 lbs. for 10-head helicopter). With compact dimensions of 8"x 8"x 8", the highly portable effect is great for mobile use. The Copter-Sphere can either be hung on truss or set on a flat surface. It comes with a convenient mounting bracket and a 300-watt lamp in choice of 120-volt or 220-volt operation. |
